Embedded Media Tools

All DreamHost hosting packages include access to these two extremely useful plugins. Be it photo slideshows or embedded video, we've got you covered!

Flash Image Rotator v3.17 [wiki]

Get the Flash Player to see this rotator.

Here's the HTML code for the above:

Important Note! For the image player to work you need to copy imagerotator.swf to your own site! For the Media Player you should just link to the one hosted here though.

The Flash Image Rotator enables you to show several photos in sequence with fluid transitions between them. It supports rotation of an RSS/XSPF playlist with JPG/GIF/PNG images, a wide range of flashvars (settings) for tweaking both behavior and appearance and an extensive, documented javascript/actionscript API.

You'll need to create a XML playlist (here's the one for our slideshow above) for any images that you wish to use, but it's really not that hard and the author's extensive documentation as well as the customer-maintained documentation in our wiki will have you up and running in no time!

JW Player for Flash and HTML5 v5.4 [wiki]

Loading the player...

Here's the HTML code for the above:

That code is just an example for our sample video. The quickest and easiest way to customize the media player to your exact specifications is to use the author's setup wizard!

The Flash Media Player supports playback of a single media file of any format the Adobe Flash Player can handle (MP3,FLV,SWF,JPG,PNG or GIF) as well as any format that your HTML5-enabled browser can handle. It also supports RSS/XSPF playlist (with mixed mediatypes), a wide range of flashvars (settings) for tweaking both behavior and appearance and an extensive, documented javascript/actionscript API.

To create a FLV-format video, you'll need to go to the Goodies > Flash Media area of our web panel where we have a tool to convert avis, mpegs, and movs to FLV automatically for you!

You'll then need to paste some code into your web page to have the player display properly. For more information, be sure to check out the author's extensive documentation as well as the customer-maintained documentation in our wiki. You can be up and running within minutes!
